Information We Collect
When you register or subscribe, we may collect your email address, name, role, company type, company name if provided, state, fleet size, years in industry, equipment brands, newsletter preferences, and content interests.
When you use the site, we may collect page views and interaction events such as stories opened, source links clicked, categories filtered, search/filter terms, scroll depth, event pages viewed, job-detail interactions, contracts viewed, funding programs viewed, registration-wall unlocks, and optional one-tap industry pulse responses. Analytics records store hashed or segmented member context rather than raw email addresses.
How We Use Information
We use information to operate the site, send the Packed Out newsletter, manage free registration, improve source coverage, understand which sections are useful, prevent abuse, and develop aggregated industry insights such as driver sentiment, hauler sentiment, job-market movement, equipment demand, contract interest, funding activity, and buying-trend signals.
Aggregated Intelligence Products
The Tipping Floor may sell or license aggregated, de-identified analysis derived from registration segments, public-source feeds, newsletter engagement, and site activity. These products are designed to describe market patterns, not identify individual users.
We do not sell your email address, individual subscriber record, raw browsing history, or employer-identifying activity as a standalone product.
Submitted Content
If you submit a forum post, image, video, story tip, or other content, it may be used to operate, publish, promote, and improve The Tipping Floor as described in our Terms. You should not upload content unless you own it or have permission to share it.
Sharing and Service Providers
We may share information with vendors that help us host the site, send email, maintain security, or analyze aggregate performance. We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect the site, or to address security and abuse.
Your Choices
You can dismiss optional pulse questions without answering. The browser stores that choice locally so the prompt stays quiet for a period of time. You can unsubscribe or change newsletter frequency through the manage link in each email. You can request account or data questions through admin@thetippingfloor.com. Editorial questions, source disputes, and takedown requests can go to editor@thetippingfloor.com.
Security
Subscriber records and analytics logs are intended to live in private server-side storage, not public JSON feeds. No internet system is perfectly secure, but the project is structured so public pages do not expose subscriber lists or raw analytics files.
Children
The site is intended for industry professionals and users 18 or older. Do not register or submit content if you are under 18.
Changes
We may update this policy as the site and data products mature. The effective date above will change when we publish a material update.
